Booking and Reservations extension – finally available!
We are glad to announce the release of our most complicated and anticipated by many users module – Booking and Reservations. Despite there are many things are to be implemented in the future versions, the first release is stable and suitable for many industries.
Booking and reservations extension introduces a new product type, which as follows from its name allows you to create all kinds of bookable products – tickets, tours, attendances, all kinds of scheduled services, rentals, workshops, lectures, hotel rooms etc.
Some of current features are:
- Integrated admin interfaces – new “Booking” tab when editing a product, orders overview page, orders overiew calendar widget
- Integrated customer interfaces – visual calendar and busy/free time periods for easy ordering, customer orders view page
- Day or hour billable periods
- Date/time/date and time based products, e.g. hotel room/consulting attendance/rental
- Specify available time frame, e.g. 8 AM – 6 PM, all reservations can only be in this period
- Specify date period of product availability
- Quantity for the same time, e.g. car wash with 3 boxes would allow 3 reservations on the same time period
- For admin: instant orders review on the product edit page using the calendar widget; separate orders page with

If we purchase the booking module now, will we receive updates for it once they are released?
Yes. All updates are free of charge.
will it be able to handle localized date/time formats.
ie. usage in denmark are dates dd/mm-yyyy and a times in 24 Hours.
How is return of item handled ?
Will it become “on Stock” automatically when reservation period is over.?

It uses your store date format, whatever you set it to.
It’s not handling the return, it handles the reservation time. E.g. if I reserve an item for tomorrow, it’s still available to reservation the day after tomorrow etc. Please check the demos, they explain a lot.
Is it possible to do with this extension: We make online reservation on one page and we choose date, location, time and it gets the availability result with prices and short descriptions for all cars. According to the result, we book one of them that means on Magento we add service product to our shopping cart.

You can only choose date and time of the rental with our extension. There is no location yet. Also, it would not give the list of available products basing on the selected date yet – this is something we will add in the future.

I need a booking extension for products (www.paintball-verhuur.nl ; http://www.buitensport-verhuur.nl and some other future websites.
The products on these website should get individual discounts when renting longer than x days/weeks etc Also I need to define individual rental-rates… e.g. weekend-rate.
A short wishlist:
- ability to rent one or more of several items
- front-end calendar showing the availability
- drop-downs showing start and end dates
- time dependent price: example 1 day = €10 , 1 weekend = €15,- , 1 week = €20,-
- price shown on the product page updates when start/end dates change (Ajax, jQuery, etc)
- show total and available number of items
- admin can set “dead-time” after item returned (for cleaning, etc)
- admin can set min and max booking time as well as granularity, like min 1 day, max 14 days, possible values 1, 2 4,8,12 days
- discounts by coupons
- discounts by quantity
- discounts by gift certificates
- custom disclaimer for each service/product
- option for customer to sent the product (with UPS etc)
- if customer choose sending option the product cannot be avaible for two days before and two days after.
- easy to translate in dutch and french

Does the “Booking and Reservation” extension include guest type functionality? For example a product that offers Adult and Child pricing? Basically where the product showcases both pricing on the same page (i.e. 2 adults, 1 child).

New features won’t be implemented in future releases – only bugfixes. I will tell you secretly that we are planning to release a separate extension for specific business needs which won’t cover so many general tasks as the current extension version does
Hi, Im looking for a rental solution for my client. They require an e commerce system and magento being one that i use often for clients.
They require to rent wedding attire and need functions such as product availability, booking and the ability to book in a party of suits with different people being able to log in and pay for their own suit. Is this possible with this extention?
