Create an unlimited number of static blocks with Z-Blocks v.2.2.4

By December 3rd, 2010 No comments

The Z-Blocks extension is a perfect tool for those who want to make an advertising banner or other applicable information displayed at any place of any page. With widgets support, every non-technical administrator of your website can add new, recently compared, recently viewed product lists to the z-block content and insert links to categories or CMS pages.

With the Z-Blocks Magento module you can make:

  • support service phone number shown in working hours only
  • curious facts displayed randomly
  • info about upcoming events appear at custom categories or on product pages only
  • national holidays congratulations displayed at different stores/languages
  • etc.

The Z-Blocks extension allows selecting the predefined block position or create a custom one. Moreover, you can specify the categories for the block to be displayed at. In the 2.2.4 version of Z-Blocks, the logic of these two parameters interrelation has been changed. Now if the Custom Position is specified for the block, the categories selection is not applied.

The following minor bugs have been fixed in the Z-Blocks Magento extension v.2.2.4:

  • Incorrect work when category has apostrophe in ID
  • Blocks displayed incorrectly on multistep checkout page in Enterprise Edition

To learn more about the extension’s features, try the demo, or read use cases, please visit the Z-Blocks page.

Z-Blocks 2.2.3 – now with widgets and variables support

By September 15th, 2010 2 comments

An ability to add widgets and variables provides Magento 1.4* store owners with ample opportunity of adding any dynamic content on store pages. Since 2.2.3 version, the Z-Blocks extension supports this native Magento feature as well.

Now you can use a large list of variables and get certain data inserted automatically within your z-blocks – general contact name and address, sales representative contact name and address, store contact telephone, etc. Thus the information can be easily edited once for all blocks instead of having to update each z-block.

Widgets support makes work with the Z-Blocks extension and your store easier. Now every non-technical administrator of your website can add new, recently compared, recently viewed product lists to the block content and insert links to categories or CMS pages.

In the 2.2.3 version, the following bug has been fixed as well:

  • Wrong image inserting

Please, visit the Z-Blocks page to get more information about this extension.

Z-Blocks – now with Market Segmentation Suite integration!

By April 15th, 2010 No comments

Today we are glad to announce the release of Z-Blocks v.2.2. The primary feature added in the new version and making the extension more flexible is the Market Segmentation Suite extension integration.

This new feature makes blocks 100% customizable – you can specify not only where and when z-blocks will appear, but whom they will be shown to.

A great variety of MSS conditions allows you to execute your marketing and merchandising strategies with pinpoint accuracy. Make the blocks displayed to target audience basing on any criterea you set up: number of products added to cart, total sum of the products bought, customers’ information, etc.

Create the proper MSS rule and the block will be displayed:

  • on the Shopping Cart page when customer adds several products to cart
  •

    Chechout Page

  • in the content top of the page on customer’s birthday
  •

    My Account Page

  • on the Category page when customer has already bought a certain product
  •

    Category Page

You can even specify a combination of conditions what makes blocks displaying even more targeted and personalized.

The following bugs have been fixed in the latest version of Z-Blocks as well:

  • Incorrect message in admin section after block deleting
  • Incorrect number of displayed records when several blocks have no content items

Please find more information on the extension page.

Z-Blocks 2.1 released

By March 3rd, 2010 No comments

The latest version of the Z-Blocks extension makes the list of block position types more structured and better arranged as the types are divided into groups according to place of block displaying – Default, General, Catalog and product, Product only, Customer, Cart & Checkout.

Moreover, the ‘cart-content-top’ block position type has been divided into ‘cart-content-top’ and ‘checkout-content-top’ what gives you more flexibility while defining a position for block displaying.

With the new version of Z-Blocks you can make blocks with any position visible in certain categories as category restrictions are now applied to custom positioned blocks as well.

The following bugs have been fixed in the latest version:

  • Midnight interval

New Extensions

Minimum Advertised Price

The minimum price set by the manufacturer isn’t the bottom line any more! With the Minimum Advertised Price extension by aheadWorks you can sell products at the price you want.

Suppliers and retailers quite often stipulate the lowest price an item is allowed to be advertised at. But sometimes in-store prices can be really lower than allowed by the suppliers, but may not be displayed in online advertising. The Minimum Advertised Price extension helps you to escape the conflicts with the manufacturers and sell products at the prices you wish.

Minimum Advertised Price adds a special Check Price button instead of the product price. Having clicked this button, you add an item to the shopping cart, and only then the required price becomes visible.

Some features are:

  • Fast loading AJAX layer
  • Completely configurable layer text, images and buttons
  • Configurable independent category/search/product page views
  • Supports direct HTML embedding
  • Fully customizable buttons and actions
  • Ability to include any content that Magento CMS can involve
  • 100% meets Minimum Advertised Price implementation standards
  • Comes with detailed setup and configuration documentation
